Much discussion on a recent post about the number of houses in the UK being at risk of flooding. Here's a lovely bit of dataviz for a Sunday evening by the artist Clare Bryden showing where in England is at risk of coastal or river flooding. Truly, a damp nation.
For those who merely wish to obsessively check the long-term flood risk of their current property, the Environment Agency has you covered here.
It's good, isn't it? I haven't been able to find any maps as pretty as this which visualise the impact of sea level rise, although of course there are the Flood Map ones (https://www.floodmap.net/), which allow you to set the sea level rise you want and zoom in to see the effects (for some reason the level it starts with is 400 m, which is pretty alarming!).
Love this! Are there other maps which project future flood mapping and the impact of sea level rise as well?
what a great visualisation!
